فیلم No Country For Old Men با بردن چهار اسکار در رشته بهترین فیلم، بهترین کارگردانی، بهترین بازیگر نقش دوم مرد و بهترین فیلمنامه اقتباسی به عنوان برنده اصلی مراسم امسال شناخته شد البته از قبل هم قابل پیش بینی بود چراکه رقیب چندان جدی در مراسم امسال نداشت و به حق هم یکی از بهترین فیلم های برادران کوئن هستش.
در مراسم امسال هم برای بار دوم بعد از مراسم سال 1964، در رشته بهترین بازیگر نقش اول و دوم هیچ بازیگر آمریکایی، برنده اسکار نشد و از نظر من تنها شگفتی مراسم امسال، برنده شدن تیلدا سوینتون برای فیلم مایکل کلیتون به عنوان بهترین بازیگر نقش دوم زن بود.

یکی از جالب ترین کارهایی که جان استیوارت در مراسم اسکار امسال کرد علاوه بر بازی تنیس با Nintendo Wii بر روی پرده نمایش فیلم، آوردن دوباره مارکتا ایرگلوا خواننده ترانه Falling Slowly بر روی صحنه بود بعد از آنکه نتوانست به هنگام بردن اسکار، صحبت کند.
